Clip-On Solar Filter

A spring-loaded solar filter that clips onto prescription eyewear for direct observation of the sun.

EN ISO 12312-2:2015Category II PPE
Critical Warning

DO NOT use the clip-on with binoculars, telescopes or camera lenses, and never attach it over sunglasses. Use only on clear prescription eyewear.

1Intended Use

A clip-on solar filter that attaches to prescription eyewear via a spring-loaded clamp, for direct visual observation of the sun including solar eclipses, transits and sunspots.

Protects ONLY for direct eye-to-sun observation when properly attached. Do NOT use with binoculars, telescopes or camera lenses. Do NOT attach over sunglasses or tinted eyewear.

2Mandatory Inspection

Before every use, inspect the filter lenses and hinge. If ANY damage is found (scratches, pinholes, cracks, hinge deformation), discard the clip-on immediately.

3How to Attach
  1. 1Position the spring clamp over the bridge of your prescription glasses and press gently until the arms grip securely. Soft rubber tips prevent scratching.
  2. 2Confirm the solar filter fully covers the optical zone of both prescription lenses — no unfiltered sunlight may reach your eyes from any angle.
  3. 3Lower the flip-up hinge and confirm the filter is fully locked in the viewing position.
  4. 4Only after confirming full coverage and secure attachment, look toward the sun.
  5. 5Turn completely away from the sun before flipping up or removing the clip-on.
4Safety Warnings
  • NEVER look at the sun unless the filter fully covers both lenses.
  • NEVER use with binoculars, telescopes or camera lenses — they concentrate solar rays and cause instant eye injury.
  • Do NOT attach over sunglasses or tinted eyewear.
  • ALWAYS supervise children (ages 3–14). Not a toy; not for children under 3.
